Young Muslims are navigating questions of faith, identity, belonging, and purpose in a world competing for their attention. HUDA helps prepare scholars and mentors to meet them with relevant guidance, genuine understanding, and a faith they can carry forward.
A gift of $6,000 sponsors one HUDA scholar for a full year of graduate education, youth mentorship preparation, faith-centered leadership development, and practical formation.
Young Muslims need trusted guidance as they navigate belief, identity, belonging, and life’s uncertainties.
HUDA helps prepare mentors who can offer sound Islamic guidance, compassionate presence, and steady support.
Support prepares leaders who can speak to the pressures, questions, and realities young Muslims face today.
The goal is deeper faith, stronger connection, and a lasting sense of purpose within Muslim community life.
“You never know which conversation, message, or moment of care will become part of someone’s way back.”
For many young Muslims, the hardest struggles are not always visible. Questions of faith, identity, and belonging can grow quietly, especially when someone feels disconnected from community or unsure where to turn.
Ammar has seen how much a single relationship can matter in those moments. At a Young Muslims book club, he met a young man who had recently returned to Islam after a period of atheism. As they spoke, Ammar realized they had crossed paths years earlier, when that same young man was struggling and Ammar had reached out with a brief message of support. At the time, he never knew whether it made any difference.
Years later, he was sitting across from him, hearing how that journey back to faith had unfolded.
That moment stayed with Ammar. It showed him that even small acts of care can echo much later in a person’s life, and that guidance is often built through trust long before someone is ready to ask for help openly.
Now, through deeper Islamic study at TISA, Ammar is strengthening the knowledge and grounding needed to serve young people with wisdom, compassion, and relevance — especially those who are questioning, struggling, or trying to find their way back.
Nordean has seen what can happen when a young person feels dismissed or misunderstood by the very community they are supposed to trust. A painful interaction can become more than a bad moment; it can become one more reason to pull away from faith, leadership, and belonging.
His formation at TISA is helping him approach those moments differently. By listening more carefully and helping young people put words to what they are carrying, Nordean is learning how to bridge the gap between youth and community leaders before that distance becomes permanent.
The goal is not simply to solve one problem, but to help a young person feel heard enough to stay connected.
“Sometimes the first step toward rebuilding trust is making sure a young person feels heard before they feel judged.”

Helps youth develop a stronger relationship with faith and a clearer sense of where they belong.
Sadia had already spent years working with young Muslims, answering their questions and helping them navigate faith and life in a Western environment. But she came to realize that guidance was not just about having the right answer. TISA helped her become more self-aware, less judgmental, and more attentive to what young people were actually carrying.
She brought that change back into her youth work. After designing her own curriculum and leading workshops on Qur’an, prayer, and duʿā’, she saw young people become more comfortable, more connected, and more engaged. For Sadia, that was the moment she could see that her own growth was helping the next generation grow too.
“It was the first time I truly saw how my growth could directly empower the next generation.”
TISA helped Sadia become more self-aware, less judgmental, and better able to meet difficult questions with compassion.
