Anwar has served as an Imam for 11 Years in Salt Lake City, Memphis, and Nashville. He is currently serving as an Imam for the Islamic Association of Greater Memphis, which runs multiple mosques across Memphis. He is also an Outreach Specialist for iERA USA. We are proud of his achievements and wish him well in his future endeavors!
Imam Anwar is of Palestinian-American descent and currently lives in Memphis, Tennessee. His leadership activities in the Muslim community include being Imam at Masjid ArRahman and leading Dawah efforts for multiple national organizations, including the first Muslim owned hospital network. He aspires to be even more impactful by leading a team of Duaat across the country.
Nosheen was voted on the TISA Board at its annual meeting on May 31, 2024. This historic appointment adds the students’ voice to the Board’s deliberations. She volunteers at Tarbiya Institute and other Islamic organizations in Sacramento in various capacities, including as a community chaplain. She aspires to keep growing intellectually and spiritually, while challenging herself and helping develop grounded, well-established scholarship. She is currently serving TISA Board of Trustees.

Rifat currently lives in Atlanta, GA. He is the Imam of Masjid Uthman (Dunwoody Community Center), where he leads prayers, organizes programs, and participates in community development. He aspires to be a competent community leader who makes a noticeable and positive difference.

Michael is of French and American descent and currently lives in Wylie, Texas. He is the Quran Department Head in Good Tree Academy in Plano, Texas. Michael offers a contextually relevant approach to learning the Quran with his Quran Intuitive project and aspires to be a competent advisor to guide American Muslims in their quest for a more meaningful bond with Allah’s word.

An Atlanta native, she lives in Maryland, where she supports new Muslims and teaches Arabic at local area Masajid. She also homeschools her two children, Maryam and Ibrahim. This year, she will graduate from Al Azhar with a Bachelor’s in Arabic and Islamic Studies and plans to join the Ifta Program at Al Salam Institute in the Fall. As an attorney, she hopes to synthesize Islamic sciences with the practice of both family and estate planning law.
Ifdal is of Indonesian descent and currently lives in Dallas, Texas. He is the Head Hifdh Teacher at Qalam Institute, where he teaches and mentors children who are on the path of memorizing the Qur’an. He also volunteers in different capacities for his local masjid, Valley Ranch Islamic Center. He also served as a Youth Director at the Muslim Community Center.
Omar resides in Memphis, TN, where he is the youth director at Masjid al-Rahman and an Islamic Studies teacher at Pleasant View Islamic School. He joined the very first classes at TISA and maintained a 3.74 GPA while pursuing a Master’s in Islamic Studies, while continuing to work full-time. TISA is proud of this new alumnus. We wish him well and look forward to him using what he learned to better the world through ethical leadership and religious knowledge.
